One of Belgrade’s trendiest accommodations, Radisson Blu Old Mill hotel, opened its doors in March, welcoming guests to its 236 modernly designed rooms. Located in a walking distance to the one of Belgrade’s most elegant neighborhoods, Senjak, and only 2 km away from the city center, while Belgrade’s Trade Center is literally across the street.
Radisson Blu Old Mill hotel has a former life as a mill. Its new incarnation as a luxury hotel, was challenging for designers of prestigious Graft studio from Berlin. Their creative ideas for the interior design was to create a mix of building’s “old bones” and clean modern design to satisfy guests who seek a sense of history and character. Combined elements of industrial chic with amazing structural features and classic luxury, all spiced up with numerous historical details gives this place strong character and unique feel. Radisson Blu Old Mill hotel easily slips in a category of architectural works of art.
Radisson Blu Old Mill comprises 236 rooms, including 14 suites. All rooms follow the same pattern of subdued luxury. Overwhelming note is obviously elegant, but without being gaudy and garish. And this is exactly what makes this hotel so special and different. Discreet luxury without being too minimal is something very hard to accomplish and designers from Graft studio did exactly that, giving this hotel a note that is very modern, yet timeless at the same time. While being artistically oriented in design, this is also a hotel full of luxurious amenities, with its own large garage, many conference rooms (some of which are interconnected) and modern gym with a spa center.
Spending some quality time in the brand new Radisson Blu Old Mill hotel was truly marvelous experience. We stayed in a standard room which was around 34 square meters in size, ultramodern in design, with sleek brown-and-white interiors. It boasted beautiful wooden floors, and a bathroom with a glass shower. The room was located on the 9th floor, offering sublime views of the river and the Gazela Bridge which positively glows at sunset. The spacious bathroom area had an array of stylish shower products from thisworks that uses only the finest, highly concentrated and naturally active ingredients. We were impressed with beautiful artworks of Old Mill, work of Strauss & Hillegaart art studio, that could be seen in every room.
Business Class room
We enjoyed our evening at the OMB Larder + Lounge restaurant, while trying the finest cuisine in the capital. It is one of the city’s finest restaurants, and is becoming one of the most popular. It is designed to resemble the old mill, but with very posh twist. The atmosphere at OMB Larder + Lounge restaurant is elegant and sophisticated, with refined service. Seductively lit by the dimmed interior lights, with warm and cozy feeling this is a place perfect for a romantic dinners, but also for an important business lunches.
OMB Larder + Lounge restaurant
The philosophy behind the cuisine in OMB Larder + Lounge restaurant is pretty unique. Under the supervision of the Italian Chef Fabrizio Bigi, all meals are slowly cooked, which gives them very unique and specific aroma. The recipes are based on the international and Serbian cuisine, but all with a special touch that makes them taste even better. We thoroughly enjoyed our deliciously prepared meals, as well as hotel’s wonderful selection of fine wines. If you want to try something different and quite unique order special nitrogen ice-cream and watch how they prepare it specially for you.
