When it comes to finding the perfect place for a comfortable stay and stunning views in always bustling Barcelona, look no further than Room Mate Anna. This design four-star hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of the city, just a stone’s throw away from Antoni Gaudí‘s masterpiece, Casa Batlló.
Room Mate Anna is located in Barcelona’s Eixample district, in the nonchalantly posh Passeig de Gràcia, a vibrant area that surrounds the Avenue of the same name. It prides itself with some of the most important buildings of Catalan modernist architecture, like monumental Casa Lleó Morera by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Casa Amatller by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, and incomparable Gaudi‘s works of art, already mentioned Casa Batlló and the iconic Casa Milà “La Pedrera.”
Anna is well placed for shopping and sightseeing. Just step away from Passeig de Gràcia where you will stumble across an array of luxury brands, designer boutiques, and upscale fashion houses.
After a long day of city-exploring, Room Matte Anna will welcome you in a way that only a boutique design hotel can – with charming, funky, but also elegant and decidedly quirky interiors, a work of the celebrated designer and antique expert Lorenzo Castillo. His tribute to the organic forms of the Mediterranean Sea life, as well as to the Sun itself leaves a lasting impression and presents more than adequate surroundings for ones that fell under the charms of Gaudi’s Barcelona.
As soon as you step into the lobby, you’re greeted by a visually intriguing and slightly futuristic space that effortlessly combines sleek lines of dark lacquered walls accented with golden circles (a nod to boat windows) with vibrant art deco red sofas. The interior designer Lorenzo Castillo imaginatively and playfully matched different geometrical patterns that are unexpectedly followed by an homage to sea life.
The Hotel comprises 81 comfortable rooms. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the carefully chosen color palettes of soothing green, golden yellow, royal purple and red to the high-quality furnishings. All rooms are spacious and well-appointed, ensuring you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. You will find all the amenities one should expect from the respected four-star property, like air-conditioning, TV, safe, free Wi-Fi, minibar,…etc. Some rooms are specifically adapted for disabled guests from the entrance to the room to the bathroom. We have to say that here you will feel completely safe with only one thought on your mind – how to spend your holiday.

During our visit to Barcelona, we chose to stay in the deluxe room that is dressed in the iconic black and white Fornasetti clouds, accented with red coral and shells sculptures. We immensely enjoyed a stunning view of Casa Batlló. Waking up each morning to the sight of this architectural masterpiece right outside our window was a truly unique experience that left us in awe. It’s a view that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Barcelona, and in the evening when it’s beautifully lit, it added a touch of magic to our stay.
In the corridor you may find the whimsical composition and scale of Acquario that creates a unique and striking wallcovering, whilst the color palettes retain Fornasetti classicism.
Breakfast in Room Mate Anna starts at 7:00 AM and lasts to 12:00 PM. The hotel’s motto is that no matter what, nobody leaves hungry! We had a pleasure to confirm that claim, thanks to the wide variety of pastries, some of them gluten-free, cold meats, fruits, excellent selection of cheeses, scrambled eggs and absolutely fantastic fruit and vegetable smoothies that are daily prepared by the restaurant’s team.
The swimming pool at the hotel’s rooftop is a marvel for itself, letting you enjoy in stunning vistas of the city while relaxing after a busy day. For cocktail afficionados, the Anna’s Terrace bar also presents a perfect spot, and not only for its great selection of drinks, but for the views over two architectural wonders Casa Batlló and Casa Amatller.
The perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Barcelona’s vibrant streets
The staff at Room Mate Anna is another highlight of the hotel. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with warm and friendly faces who are ready to assist you with anything you may need. Whether it’s recommending the best local attractions or arranging transportation, the staff go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is memorable and enjoyable.
Next to the restaurant, the hotel also comprises one smaller conference room that can be used for more or less formal meetings.
