LAZ’ Hotel Spa Urbain Paris in the Saint Lazare district is a contemporary boutique hotel that on its surface seems to be aiming more towards the younger, urban clientele. With the interior that evokes the vibes of New York City, LAZ’ attracts a mix of fashion and art industry insiders, as well as stylish in-the-know locals. But after spending some time in it we must agree that there is no age limit for enjoying in everything that this wonderful hotel has to offer.
What mostly interests us when it comes to choosing the right hotel for the review is its interior design, and that is exactly the reason why we decided to visit newly opened LAZ’. Besides being the full-fledged 4-star luxurious property, LAZ’ wins with its easiness and lightness in its interior decor. Rare are hotels where one can feel so calm and relaxed, while at the same time being completely aware of the bustling city center. Its concept is masterfully imagined in an industrial-chic manner, more New York-ish than Parisian by design, but with bohemian touches here and there. That combination works wonders with dark brick walls typical for NYC lofts and leather sofa in the lounge area which is connected with urban restaurant and bar. That is the spot where we spent most of our time in LAZ’, sipping cocktails and enjoying the ambiance. Except, maybe, for the spa.

In the rooms of LAZ’ hotel design note is similar to the one from the bar and lounge area – with urban chic interiors and tasteful combination of colors. Its design team clearly paid obsessive attention to color, texture, and detail. All 56 rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with free WiFi and flat-screen TVs. The bathrooms boast large bathtubs, with plush bathrobes and Codage toiletries (Parisian skin care brand). Our room even had a small balcony that overlooked LAZ’s inner yard.
The most coveted rooms of the hotel are definitely Lofts, which are not only the largest but also positioned at the building’s highest floors for the wonderful views over Parisian rooftops. Even the monumental Sacré-Cœur cathedral is within the sight. Above all, there’s an impressive sense of light, with large windows and cleverly concealed cornice lighting.

In the morning, there is a choice of an express breakfast or a buffet breakfast. In the afternoon, the bar takes on the atmosphere of a tea room with home-made pastries and later in the day aperitifs including the drink “So Distrikt”, representative of local regions of France.

LAZ’s spa is equipped with one of the sweetest swimming pools among the Parisian hotels. Again, the design is very appealing, but this time more Mediterranean affair. Its ambiance evokes the atmosphere of Mallorca with slight Moroccan touches. Beside truly wonderful swimming pool, for the complete spa experience there is also, steam room, gym and Codage treatment room. A day of pampering can include deep-tissue massages, hot stone massages, and detox wraps along with aromatherapy and Ayurvedic treatments.
In this hotel you may also book a meeting room for 10 people, and if you have to work during your stay there is a nice spot in the lobby area completely designed to create a small working space for two persons and one Apple computer.
LAZ’ Hotel Spa Urbain Paris is located in the very center of the city, which makes it a perfect spot for the city exploring. From the Opéra Garnier, Moulin Rouge and Parc Monceau, to the shopping Meccas rue Saint-Honoré and Galeries Lafayette department store, everything is within a 15-minute walk or less.
