La Maison Favart is one of the best places to stay in Paris for the stunning view over Opéra-Comique, romantic décor, luxurious bedrooms, and intimate spa. This romantic hotel offers a surprising travel in time into the world of opera, and artistic atmosphere that reflects inspirational love story dating back to 18th century. The hotel is situated in the 2nd arrondissement, close to the Place Vendôme, the Louvre Museum, the Palais Garnier, the monumental Madeleine Church and the Left Bank which makes it a perfect base for the city explorations. For fashion lovers and various luxury aficionados, famous shopping street Rue Saint-Honoré is within 10-minutes walking distance as well as iconic Printemps Haussmann and Galleries Lafayette department stores.
La Maison Favart is fashionable but with an atmosphere that is more secret hideaway than show off.
The hotel bears the name of Opéra-Comique founders – Charles-Simon Favart and his muse – young actress Justine Duronceray. Mr. Favart was famous as a playwright specializing in opera and comedy, while his wife as an actress and dancer. Charles-Simon Favart almost single-handedly helped Opéra-Comique to creatively surpass at the time more famous Comédie-Française. The influences of that time are still very visible inside the hotel, mostly through its chic décor that gives La Maison Favart pretty distinctive look. Architects Atelier Jean-Luc Bras and Exclusive Interiors collaborated to create a theatrical setting that is bohemian, elegant and refined. They wanted to revive Favart‘s romance and instill it into every corner of this nice hotel.

This is a rather small boutique hotel, but its 39 rooms are a joy to be in. They are idyllic and peaceful, wrapped in velvet and satin fabrics, with richly colored curtains and furniture reminiscent of the 1700s with modern design touches. Several types of rooms are available: classic bedrooms, deluxe bedrooms, suites, duplexes, and La Petite Maison. They have symbolic names inspired by the Favarts‘ love story: “Justine et Charles”, “La Leçon de Danse”, “Baiser doux” or “La Costumière.”
“Les toils de l’opéra” duplex measures approximately 35m2. Each room offers a unique atmosphere with a subtle play of colors and materials.

Also, La Maison Favart prides itself with La Petite Maison, an independent housing connected to the main building via lobby, that can be privatized as a top-notch luxurious family suite or as a fully equipped office space for business meetings and conferences.
Every morning we enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast in a typical French manner. Fresh, warm and fluffy croissants, jams and café au latte – c’est manifique! But there were more options like fruit juices, cooked meats, selection of cheeses, cereals, fresh fruit salad, and much more.

For the ultimate in tranquility, La Maison Favart comprises one truly amazing wellness center, a small but luxurious oasis. It features a relaxation bath with a cascading waterfall and serene lighting. The pool is cozy and quiet and an idyllic spot to unwind from the Parisian hustle and bustle. We usually started with a short visit to the hotel’s fitness room, continued with a sauna and finish the spa day enjoying the soothing swimming pool.
We can wholeheartedly recommend La Maison Favart as a romantic haven and an idyllic cocoon for the honeymoon or just for couples who want to add a secret ingredient of “Parisian love affair” into their everyday lives and have the most exciting and joyful time in The city of Love.
