There is no place like Paris. Its history is so rich and its architecture so incomparable. Like Woody Allen wrote in his last true masterpiece “Midnight in Paris”- “that Paris exists and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world will always be a mystery to me.” There is something special in those Haussmannian buildings and broad avenues, that creates a simple urge to come back and, preferably, never leave… In our never ending explorations of this magical city we always try to present new places that add certain charm to it. So, enter the Chavanel, a place where sharp, clean lines and natural wood, coupled with a collection of gray tones, accented by turquoise and antigua blues and sunny yellows, make for an oasis of Zen calm in this bustling city.
This brand new design boutique hotel really benefits from its location at 22, rue Tronchet Paris 8th, between the historic Madeleine quarter and boulevard Haussmann, one of the most visited sites in Paris. It is dangerously close to the city’s shopping district, the iconic rue Saint Honore and even closer to the Parisian most popular department stores, Printemps and Galleries Lafayette. So, if you are a big spender and a proclaimed lover of Parisian fashion, then Chavanel is hotel for you. If you’re not, either way it is hard to stay immune to the charms of this Parisian haven.
In the Hotel Chavanel you will experience a true peace and quiet atmosphere. In its design are incorporated natural elements like trees in the lobby, which imitate the woods, or pieces that reflect nature like chair in the shape of the bird cage, surrounded with flowers, white stones or chandeliers in the form of clouds… All that create a serene surroundings in which you can let go of all your worries and just simply enjoy your Parisian holiday. Chavanel also has modern and sophisticated touches like its lace leitmotif that we could see from the lobby on the walls, up to our room in carpets and curtains. The lace used for the curtains is from the historic House of Sophie Hallette that has made an important role in the fashion industry. Exquisite lace from this house can also be seen on the dresses from Oscar de la Renta, Dior, Versace, Gucci, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy to Alexander McQueen. This also proves one more time that Paris is the city of haute-couture whose impact can be seen in many details. Looking at Chavanel we can say it is a true design boutique hotel which lovers of a interior design will especially appreciate.
With a brand identity created by architects Anne Peyroux and Emmanuèle Thisy, in complete accord with owner Sophie Charlet, Hotel Chavanel represents a treasure trove of textiles in a paean to sheer luxury design. It exudes that typical Parisian charms, but in a more contemporary, modern way. Offering 25 rooms and two suits, all with spectacular, unobstructed views of the historic Madeleine quarter, Chavanel is intimate and stylish base for Paris visitors eager for an inventive, modern experience. Each room is meticulously planned to maximize space and comfort. In Chavanel every piece of furniture is either exclusive or unique like the sheer artistry of Johan Lindstén from Lindstén Form Studio hanging lamps, the graphic tracery work of Louise Campbell “Prince” armchairs which also illustrates a motif resembling fine old lace, the KRION® bed headboards that are cut into a low relief …
Deluxe room details
The rooms are quiet and comfortable, wrapped in the materials of highest quality and tastefully designed. The attention to details never ceased to amaze us, with woolen blends and velvet details contrasted with French lace that only punctuated what is well known as the “French chic.” We really enjoyed our spacious Deluxe room, with an amazing view over the elegant rue Tronchet, in close proximity of Place Madeleine and Printemps department store.
The stylish Junior Suites are located on the sixth (top) floor and offer a beautiful view across the rooftops of Paris
Chavanel is all about organic design and a lifestyle atmosphere that simply invites you to come back over and over again. It is decidedly Eco-friendly and, at breakfast, you will be served only with healthy, organic dishes. Even the Parisian trademark croissants are made in a more healthy way!
Being independent certainly has its benefits, and Chavanel is no exception. This family-owned property is definitely chic, but in a discreet and elegant manner. It is obviously French, but not in an obtrusive way. On the contrary, this is one calm, comfortable and, above all, very sophisticated place, perfect for the lovers of modern, even organic forms that do not necessarily hide omnipresent French luxury, but simply takes the different approach to it. Hotel Chavanel simply does it marvelously!
