The Barrière family purchased the landmark brasserie, Fouquet’s, in 1998, followed by the hotel property in 2001. Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière opened in 2006, and it is the only Five star establishment still owned by a French family. Walking into the lobby of the hotel, you’ll see black and white photographs portraying Barrière family members as well as numerous celebrities from the cinema industry that have visited this luxurious hotel.
A fabulously eccentric oversized Louis XVth-style day bed 9 meters in length and standing over 2 meters tall, takes center stage in an unexpected play on futurism.
Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière has 81 rooms and 33 suites. All rooms have been beautifully designed by celebrated interior designer Jacques Garcia with modern looking furniture. Rooms are decorated in shades of gold, delicate fabrics in a modern style using noble raw materials. They are fully soundproofed and include all the latest technical features (Wi-Fi, flat screen and multi-functional printer). The rooms and suites provide beautiful views over the Champ-Elysees, Avenue George V, or the magnificent and relaxing interior garden of the hotel.
The hotel features five restaurants- Le Fouquet’s, Le Diane, la Petite Maison de Nicole, le Café Fouquet’s and la Galerie Joy, and three bars- L’Escadrille Bar, Le Bar Marta and Le Lucien Bar, with musical ambiance by Beatrice Ardisson.
Fouquet’s has a hundred years of experience in the restaurant world behind it already. This traditional restaurant, inextricably linked to film and cinema, has embodied the spirit of the French “high class brasserie” since 1899. It is THE place to be in Paris and for more than a century has been a popular meeting place for people from the world of cinéma, arts and culture. In 1990, the Fouquet’s is added to the “supplementary list of historical monuments” and is officially recognized as important in French culture.
The legendary Fouquet’s embodies a taste for celebration such as was first invented at the birth of the motion picture industry by Maurice Chevalier, Raimu, Georges Simenon and later by Orson Welles, Jeanne Moreau who rubbed shoulders here with stars of the stage such as Joséphine Baker and later, Liza Minelli. Today, new artists such as Quentin Tarantino, Jodie Foster, Sean Penn, Guillaume Canet, Gilles Lellouche, Jean Dujardin are adding their names to the ever growing list. With the Cesar Awards Gala Dinner (Oscar Awards equivalent) held each year, the Fouquet’s has plenty of cinematographic references, including boards on the walls indicating the preferred tables of great historical French actors.
French cuisine classics, as interpreted by Jean-Yves Leuranguer, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, have confirmed the legendary reputation of the restaurant.
Curving around the hotel gardens, Michelin-starred Le Diane incorporates luxe ingredients into impeccable and innovative French fare.
With La Petite Maison de Nicole, the Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière is bringing the colours, lights and fragrances of the Côte d’Azur to Paris. A wing of the Fouquet’s restaurant is completely changed every night and turned into a young and modern venue serving Mediterranean classics.
Le Café Fouquet’s offers à la carte traditional French food with a terrace on the Champs-Elysées. The unbeatable view of the famous avenue can be enjoyed all day long and evenings.
La Galerie Joy is the more laid back and casual restaurant with a patio. It is best suited for a quick and light meal.
